IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE GUITAR PURISTS GO BALLISTIC:
1. D7 is like this (not good w/ chord names, I just wanna be sure), right?
E--2--|
B--1--|
D--2--|
G-----|
A-----|
E-----|
2. During the chorus (or during the F-C chord progressions),
F is suppossed to be played like:
E--0--|
B--1--|
D--2--|
G--3--|
A--3--|
E--0--|
3. Because I'm not sure w/c chord is that played during the bridge (after the Am),
nag-imbento ako! It goes something like this.
E--2--|
B--4--|
D--2--|
G--4--|
A--3--|
E--2--|
4. Please don't give me a "the song was played on A, not C" type of stuff.
If you transpose it to C, it'd just be the same chord progression. When I played the CD and
listened to the song, it matched the opening chord matched C, so I took it from there. Plus
it's easier to play in that note IMO.

Misis Fely Nimfa Ang Pangalan lyrics
This song is from the Self-titled Album (2008), and it's hilarious! I love how it was written. Witty, clever, sounds funny despite its serious implications. ^_^

David Archuleta : Crush
I'm sure it'd be safe to say that I'm not the only person in the world loving David Archuleta's new single. And, no, before you ask, Crush is not a cover of that song several years ago by Mandy Moore.David's voice being beautiful is already a given, so let's not talk about that. Let's talk about the song.
Lyrically, I think it's pretty cool how it suits David's age. I mean, seriously. The boy's barely eighteen, and I, for one, would be a little put out if his first single would be about things that a teen-ager couldn't have experienced yet. But then the way the song is written isn't flat and shallow, either. I think the melody helped it, too. It's positive with a teeny tiny helping of angst and uncertainty...like a dash of salt that you can barely notice, but without it the dish would be bland.
Speaking of the melody, I think it totally fits David's range and genre, don't you agree?
Ayt. So without further ado, here's David Arachuleta's Crush for your listening pleasure.
CRUSH Lyrics
I hung up the phone tonight
Something happened for the first time deep inside
It was a rush
What a rush
Cause the possibility that you would ever feel the same way about me
It’s just too much
Just too much
Why do I keep running from the truth?
All I ever think about is you
You got me hypnotized
So mesmerized
And I just got to know
Do you ever think
When you’re all alone
All that we can be
Where this thing can go
Am I crazy or falling in love?
Is it really just another crush?
Do you catch a breath when I look at you?
Are you holding back, like the way I do?
Cause I’m trying, trying to walk away
But I know this crush ain’t goin’ away
Has it ever crossed your mind when were hangin’
Spending time, girl, are we just friends?
Is there more? Is there more?
See it’s a chance we’ve gotta take
Cause I believe that we can make this into,
Something that will last, last forever
Forever
Do you ever think
When you’re all alone
All that we can be
Where this thing can go
Am I crazy or falling in love?
Is it really just another crush?
Do you catch a breath when I look at you?
Are you holding back, like the way I do?
Cause I’m trying, trying to walk away
But I know this crush ain’t goin’ away
Goin’ away
Why do I keep running from the truth
All I ever think about is you
You got me hypnotized
So mesmerized
And I just got to know
Do you ever think
When you’re all alone
All that we can be
Where this thing can go
Am I crazy or falling in love?
Is it really just another crush?
Do you catch a breath when I look at you?
Are you holding back, like the way I do?
Cause I’m trying, trying to walk away
But I know this crush ain’t goin’ away
(This crush ain’t) Goin’ away
Goin’ away

Passion in Manila

So I have a new favorite song.
But before we get to that, let's get into context.
Tonight, I went to the Passion Conference here in Manila.
My night didn't start well, actually. Chique and I were supposed to leave work at exactly 6 o'clock, but work came flowing in (as usual) at five, so I had to work extra fast to make our 6 o'clock deadline. I finished about 15 minutes behind schedule. And then it was raining mercilessly outside. ARGH!
Not to be discouraged, we charged forth and made it to the PhilSports arena by seven (I think). We ended up in the bleachers, which wasn't my section of choice... Well, with young people lining up outside the stadium since lunchtime, I guess it wouldn't really matter much if we got there at five.
There was a bit more time for me to take a deep breath and refocus my thoughts to the upcoming worship time (as opposed to the stress and traffic outside) so by the time the music started, I was up and ready. The praise and worship was crazy cool and terrific, but I think what made the night super special for me is what I learned. I got so much out of that short period of time (and I'm still trying to process all of it) but for now I'm only going to focus on one thing of the things that really struck me:
Most of us have an idea that our lives—compared to the expanse of the universe, the length of eternity and the greatness of God—is but a matchstick. When you light a matchstick, it's super cool to look at as a hot fire blazes... But after several seconds, the fire runs out of stick, and all what's left is a teeny tiny burnt piece of wood.
If that matchstick was my life, then I can say, "Wow, checkit! Look at my fire! I'm so cool and stuff!" (which may be true) but what happens when the fire runs out? What has my life been lived for? Did I get born just to study, graduate, get a job, live on my own, get a hubby, have kids, retire and then die?
If that were true then that'd be an awfully boring life.Read full post...
But what if my life was like a little matchstick that, after being lit, joins another fire... One that's bigger and brighter and does not run out? My fire and the bigger fire become one, and, even if my matchstick runs out, my fire will always burn with the bigger fire. In short, even when I die, the fire that was what I did in my life would continue burning, because it's part of a greater, mightier thing that God—the eternal, ever-living God—is doing in my generation, and the generations to come. That's super awesome!
I've heard before that the things we do for God have eternal value, but hearing it like that, with the matchstick and all, really struck me tonight. I don't want my life to be just 15 minutes of smokin' fame; I want to be with that big, magnificent fire! I want my fire to be with his fire... and I want everyone—everyone—to be with me with his fire...
Thus my new favorite song.
God of this City
You're the God of this city
You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation
You Are
For there is no one like our God
There is no one like our God
For greater things have yet to come
Greater things are still to be done in this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here
You're the Lord of Creation
The Creator of all things
You're the King above all Kings
You Are
You're the strength in our weakness
You're the love to the broken
You're the joy in the sadness
You Are
For greater things have yet to come
Greater things are still to be done in this city
Where glory shines from hearts alive
With praise for you and love for you in this city
Greater things have yet to come
Greater things are still to be done in this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here
Needless to say, this song, coupled with the Word that was shared earlier and the fact that the 8,000-something-something young people filling the PhilSports Arena were singing this in one voice, gave me the goosebumps and brought me to tears.
Passion in Manila was an awesome experience.
But, I'm sure, what's to come will be even more awesome.

In This Moment
Mother, can you hear me for the first time I see
born into eyes not by my own decision
take me away from a life with no vision
step down from the subway,
climb the staircase to the street
spinning in circles and holding on tight
to this moment forever
if only tonight
I wanna be in this moment, no one can take it from me
I wanna stay in this moment, no one can take it away from me
Driving through the city for the first time you and me
staring through windows at my own reflection
how can a window encompass perfection
now that I know what it's like to be living
this beautiful world will never stop giving
I can't return to a life with no vision
born into eyes not by my own decision
I wanna be in this moment, no one can take it from me
I wanna stay in this moment, no one can take it away from me
Watching the world through the eyes of a child
sitting alone in my room
wishing that someone would take me away someday
give me a chance and I'll show you what's real
open your eyes and you'll see
that I'm stuck in a moment and no one can take it from me
I wanna be in this moment, no one can take it from me
I wanna stay in this moment, no one can take it away from me

That is Why
Just to feel Your arms around me
Just to know Your grace has found me
Just to hear Your voice surround me
Calling my name
That is why I live
That is why I move
That is why my heart can not go on without You
That is why I sing
That is why I cry
That is why no other love but You will satisfy
Just to stand beside You knowing
Your promise that You're never going
Never leaving, always holding
Holding my hand
That is why I live
That is why I move
That is why my heart can not go on without You
That is why I sing
That is why I cry
That is why no other love but You will satisfy
That is why
Just to hear Your voice surround me
Calling my name...

Kailan
Kailan Lounge
Kailan mo ako hahagkan
Matagal na akong naghihintay
Nakadungaw sa bintana
Mga dahon lang ang kumakaway
Kailan ko madaramdaman
Pagdampi ng iyong labi
Tinatanong ko ang mga bituin
Mga luhang humahalik
Sa aking pisngi
kailan ako tatahan
Higpit ng yahak ng dibdib
Nakatingin ako sa salamin
May guhit sa noo
Mapait ang ngiti
Kailan ko masisilayan
Sa araw-araw aking mahal
Mula paggising
Hanggang sa pag-idlip
Kagandahan mo'y walang patid
Kailan mo ako hahagkan
Matagal na akong naghihintay
Nakadungaw sa bintana
Mga dahon lang ang kumakaway
Kailan ako lalaya
Sa anino ng pag-iisa
Mga rehas lang ang tanaw
Nanginginig sa seldang maginaw

Lightyears
by the Eraserheads
Big dipper north of nowhere,
Outside the room inside my mind
Look forward to tomorrow
But can I leave yesterday behind?
How it feels so strange
To have grown and change
Now it's not the same
Coz time slips and slides into another place and
Try as we might to understand each other
Doesn't really matter where you are
It always seems so very far
It's like you're lightyears away
You're lightyears away from me
Little dipper south of somewhere,
It looks much closer than it really is
I held it in my hands
But you're forever out of reach
Far as the eye can see
Nothing is meant to be
Doesn't mean much to me
But oh, if I only had a rocketship to fly
I'd be right there in a minute
But it doesn't really matter where you are
However near it still so far
It's like you're lightyears away
You're lightyears away from me...
Far as the eye can see
Nothing is meant to be
Doesn't mean much to me
But time slips and slides into another place and
Try as we might to understand each other
Doesn't really matter where you are
It always seems so very far
It's like you're lightyears away
You're lightyears away from me
Look forward to tomorrow
But can I leave yesterday behind...
