Massages are LOVE

I read somewhere that our feet are the most underrated parts of our body. Most people take care of their face the most, or maybe their hair, hands, or abdomen, but only few realize the importance of feet.

Just imagine: if your feet hurt you can’t stand straight, and if you can’t stand straight, you can’t walk straight, and if you can’t walk straight, then…well…there goes your usefulness for the day. Of course, if you’re required to sit the whole day, then I guess you can still be useful, but you’ll still probably have some degree of discomfort if your feet hurt, yes?

Extra care should be given to our feet. And that’s why my most favorite kind of massage is the foot massage. Yep, I love massages, that’s common knowledge, I think. I indulge myself in back massages once in a while — and, occassionally, a full body massage if my wallet allows it — but the one kind I see to it that I receive regularly is the foot massage.

I received one such amazing foot massage in the Blue Water Day Spa last week. The one we went to was the one along Ortigas Avenue (beside Caltex, near Club Filipino Ave.). When I got there, it looked like a normal building to me, and the stairs to the second floor was…well…normal. To be honest, I was thinking: “I knew it. The photos were much too pretty to actually exist in real life. *sigh*”

But when I entered the reception area…. Ooh-lala! I was proven wrong. The photos were true. And the place really was that beautiful. The reception area was, for a reason I cannot comprehend, already relaxing by itself — with very courteous staff quietly greeting me good evening, and gently ushering me in. The hallways were awesome, the sauna looked fun, and everything was clean without looking like a hospital.

When we entered the much-talked about theater, very courteous and professional-looking therapists entered and attended to us promptly (and politely!). My therapist asked if I would like a light or hard massage on my feet. I’ve always preferred hard massages, so I told her so. And MAN I think that was one of the hardest yet gentles massages I’ve had. I think it’s one of the best. Yeah, I’m pretty sure of it. (The foot bath was delicious, by the way.)

And I had better stop now or I won’t be able to. Haha!

After that I also got massages for my hands, back, and face (I love it when they gently pull at my hair) while Kung Fu Panda played on the screen in front of the room. Good thing I already watched it so I could close my eyes at some parts without really missing anything.

The whole thing lasted for about an hour and a half — just perfect timing for the movie, too! — and my therpist brought me hot tea. I was so realized I didn’t want to move haha!

But of all the massages I had, my favorite still remains to be the foot massage. The Foot Reflexology and Back Masage comes as a twin package in Blue Water, so that makes it my favorite service in Blue Water! It’s only Php550.00, a really good price, if you ask me, since it’s already two services in one. I’ve been gushing about it to my friends through email and IM; don’t be surprised if I go back to Blue Water sometime soon! Haha!

I heard that a branch in Capitol Hills is opening soon. Our house in Quezon City is near there; I can’t wait to try that branch!

Many thanks to TechFilipino and Blue Water Day Spa for giving us the opportunity to try the services out! :)
