Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D

When an ambitious science professor (Fraser) develops a decidedly unconventional hypothesis, the mere mention of his name is enough to elicit laughter within the academic community. However, during a subsequent excursion to Iceland, the professor and his nephew make a major scientific discovery that sends them miles beneath the surface of the Earth, where they discover not only strange new worlds, but also encounter creatures so alien they appear to be from another world entirely.

This.
Movie.
ROCKS!!!!
I mean, seriously. It's a really good adventure movie. Think Zathura.
To me, it'll be worth watching on 3D for 300Php. Then again, as Loraine told me, we all nearly had multiple heart attacks while watching on 2D, what more if it's 3D? But if you're one for adventure and adrenaline, go for it!

The attention the filmmakers gave to the plot, characters, special effects, and whatever else was so balanced that I won't even try to review on each aspect of the film. (But I will say this: don't expect Oscar award winning acting here since it's an adventure film. I think the actors did a great job. ^_^)
My only problem with the movie was there was one teensy weensy little continuity error. You might notice it when you watch it... I'll let it slide, and I think you should, too ^_^
And though I recognized a handful of the many scientific terms Brendan Fraser mentioned (and explained) in the movie, I've forgotten most of my Earth Science so I'm not sure if everything was accurate. Also, I haven't read Jules Verne's book (although we have a copy here in our library)... But I'm sure the filmmakers did their homework.
My advice: Go to the theater to enjoy the movie (which I'm sure you will) and then analyze afterwards, if you think it's necessary (which I think it really isn't). ^_^
