With August fast approaching, Philippine institutions are gearing up to hold events for the Buwan ng Wika.
“Buwan ng Wika” is literally translated as “Language Month”, an event to celebrate the Filipino Language, as declared in Proclamation 1041 by Former President Fidel Ramos.
To celebrate in our own way, the PinoyBlogosphere is holding a blog writing contest called Wika2007. The organizers are…um…organizing the event as I type, and we just can’t wait until we can get the contest mechanics and prizes out in the open.
Just to clue you in, though, here’s how one of our previous conversations went:

“What are the prizes?” “Yeah, what are they?” “One thousand [pesos]?” “That’s way too small.” |
Yep. That is way too small, ain’t it?
But, hey, don’t do it for the money. Do it for the country! Or for the language! (And for the money, too!)
